Jul 2022: Finding the Bright Spots

Hi friends! I don’t know about you but this month has been a doozer for us. Our grandma passed away, so we’ve been on an emotional roller coaster ride for sure. Luckily there have been some bright spots as well & so here’s what we’re high-fivin’ in July:

1)     Combing through old pics with family is always good times. Stories galore emerge and I always learn something new. Finding this photo of Eric’s grandma was a highlight & helped us have a good laugh as we were celebrating her life.

2)     Jeni’s Ice Cream released two knock-out flavors this summer – Bombastix Sundae Cone (full of chocolate covered waffle cone chunks) & Butterscotch Popcorn (which reminds me of my childhood favorite – Friendly’s Buttercrunch). Delicious on their own & even better when mixed together. Also especially good when you want to eat your feelings.

3)     A surprise partnership brightened my day when I saw that there was going to be a Jane Goodall themed Barbie. While I wish it looked a bit more like Jane, this special edition gets bonus points from me for being made of recycled plastic.

4)     River clean ups in my hometown of Columbus Ohio just got better since Ohio EPA recently signed on as a sponsor. Their grant will help get kiddos out for river recreation with Hero USA & publicize Keep Columbus Clean events. Winning all around!

5)     There’s a big place in my heart for adoptable dogs & the great outdoors, so an Instagram account that combines the two is an automatic follow for me. @trailsandbears takes adoptable dogs out for hikes & photo shoots with the hopes of helping them finding forever homes. Take a look & you will fall in love.
